SimonPeteraservantandanapostleofJesusChristtothemthathaveobtainedlikepreciousfaithwithusthroughtherighteousnessofGodandourSaviourJesusChristGraceandpeacebemultiplieduntoyouthroughtheknowledgeofGodandofJesusourLordAccordingashisdivinepowerhathgivenuntousallthingsthatpertainuntolifeandgodlinessthroughtheknowledgeofhimthathathcalledustogloryandvirtueWherebyaregivenuntousexceedinggreatandpreciouspromisesthatbytheseyemightbepartakersofthedivinenaturehavingescapedthecorruptionthatisintheworldthroughlustAndbesidethisgivingalldiligenceaddtoyourfaithvirtueandtovirtueknowledgeAndtoknowledgetemperanceandtotemperancepatienceandtopatiencegodlinessAndtogodlinessbrotherlykindnessandtobrotherlykindnesscharityForifthesethingsbeinyouandaboundtheymakeyouthatyeshallneitherbebarrennorunfruitfulintheknowledgeofourLordJesusChristButhethatlackeththesethingsisblindandcannotseeafaroffandhathforgottenthathewaspurgedfromhisoldsinsWhereforetheratherbrethrengivediligencetomakeyourcallingandelectionsureforifyedothesethingsyeshallneverfallForsoanentranceshallbeministereduntoyouabundantlyintotheeverlastingkingdomofourLordandSaviourJesusChristWhereforeIwillnotbenegligenttoputyoualwaysinremembranceofthesethingsthoughyeknowthemandbeestablishedinthepresenttruthYeaIthinkitmeetaslongasIaminthistabernacletostiryouupbyputtingyouinremembranceKnowingthatshortlyImustputoffthismytabernacleevenasourLordJesusChristhathshewedmeMoreoverIwillendeavourthatyemaybeableaftermydeceasetohavethesethingsalwaysinremembranceForwehavenotfollowedcunninglydevisedfableswhenwemadeknownuntoyouthepowerandcomingofourLordJesusChristbutwereeyewitnessesofhismajestyForhereceivedfromGodtheFatherhonourandglorywhentherecamesuchavoicetohimfromtheexcellentgloryThisismybelovedSoninwhomIamwellpleasedAndthisvoicewhichcamefromheavenweheardwhenwewerewithhimintheholymountWehavealsoamoresurewordofprophecywhereuntoyedowellthatyetakeheedasuntoalightthatshinethinadarkplaceuntilthedaydawnandthedaystarariseinyourheartsKnowingthisfirstthatnoprophecyofthescriptureisofanyprivateinterpretationFortheprophecycamenotinoldtimebythewillofmanbutholymenofGodspakeastheyweremovedbytheHolyGhostButtherewerefalseprophetsalsoamongthepeopleevenasthereshallbefalseteachersamongyouwhoprivilyshallbringindamnableheresiesevendenyingtheLordthatboughtthemandbringuponthemselvesswiftdestructionAndmanyshallfollowtheirperniciouswaysbyreasonofwhomthewayoftruthshallbeevilspokenofAndthroughcovetousnessshalltheywithfeignedwordsmakemerchandiseofyouwhosejudgmentnowofalongtimelingerethnotandtheirdamnationslumberethnotForifGodsparednottheangelsthatsinnedbutcastthemdowntohellanddeliveredthemintochainsofdarknesstobereserveduntojudgmentAndsparednottheoldworldbutsavedNoahtheeighthpersonapreacherofrighteousnessbringinginthefloodupontheworldoftheungodlyAndturningthecitiesofSodomandGomorrhaintoashescondemnedthemwithanoverthrowmakingthemanensampleuntothosethataftershouldliveungodlyAnddeliveredjustLotvexedwiththefilthyconversationofthewickedForthatrighteousmandwellingamongtheminseeingandhearingvexedhisrighteoussoulfromdaytodaywiththeirunlawfuldeedsTheLordknowethhowtodeliverthegodlyoutoftemptationsandtoreservetheunjustuntothedayofjudgmenttobepunishedButchieflythemthatwalkafterthefleshinthelustofuncleannessanddespisegovernmentPresumptuousaretheyselfwilledtheyarenotafraidtospeakevilofdignitiesWhereasangelswhicharegreaterinpowerandmightbringnotrailingaccusationagainstthembeforetheLordButtheseasnaturalbrutebeastsmadetobetakenanddestroyedspeakevilofthethingsthattheyunderstandnotandshallutterlyperishintheirowncorruptionAndshallreceivetherewardofunrighteousnessastheythatcountitpleasuretoriotinthedaytimeSpotstheyareandblemishessportingthemselveswiththeirowndeceivingswhiletheyfeastwithyouHavingeyesfullofadulteryandthatcannotceasefromsinbeguilingunstablesoulsanhearttheyhaveexercisedwithcovetouspracticescursedchildrenWhichhaveforsakentherightwayandaregoneastrayfollowingthewayofBalaamthesonofBosorwholovedthewagesofunrighteousnessButwasrebukedforhisiniquitythedumbassspeakingwithmansvoiceforbadthemadnessoftheprophetThesearewellswithoutwatercloudsthatarecarriedwithatempesttowhomthemistofdarknessisreservedforeverForwhentheyspeakgreatswellingwordsofvanitytheyallurethroughthelustsofthefleshthroughmuchwantonnessthosethatwerecleanescapedfromthemwholiveinerrorWhiletheypromisethemlibertytheythemselvesaretheservantsofcorruptionforofwhomamanisovercomeofthesameishebroughtinbondageForifaftertheyhaveescapedthepollutionsoftheworldthroughtheknowledgeoftheLordandSaviourJesusChristtheyareagainentangledthereinandovercomethelatterendisworsewiththemthanthebeginningForithadbeenbetterforthemnottohaveknownthewayofrighteousnessthanaftertheyhaveknownittoturnfromtheholycommandmentdelivereduntothemButitishappeneduntothemaccordingtothetrueproverbThedogisturnedtohisownvomitagainandthesowthatwaswashedtoherwallowinginthemireThissecondepistlebelovedInowwriteuntoyouinbothwhichIstirupyourpuremindsbywayofremembranceThatyemaybemindfulofthewordswhichwerespokenbeforebytheholyprophetsandofthecommandmentofustheapostlesoftheLordandSaviourKnowingthisfirstthatthereshallcomeinthelastdaysscofferswalkingaftertheirownlustsAndsayingWhereisthepromiseofhiscomingforsincethefathersfellasleepallthingscontinueastheywerefromthebeginningofthecreationForthistheywillinglyareignorantofthatbythewordofGodtheheavenswereofoldandtheearthstandingoutofthewaterandinthewaterWherebytheworldthatthenwasbeingoverflowedwithwaterperishedButtheheavensandtheearthwhicharenowbythesamewordarekeptinstorereserveduntofireagainstthedayofjudgmentandperditionofungodlymenButbelovedbenotignorantofthisonethingthatonedayiswiththeLordasathousandyearsandathousandyearsasonedayTheLordisnotslackconcerninghispromiseassomemencountslacknessbutislongsufferingtouswardnotwillingthatanyshouldperishbutthatallshouldcometorepentanceButthedayoftheLordwillcomeasathiefinthenightinthewhichtheheavensshallpassawaywithagreatnoiseandtheelementsshallmeltwithferventheattheearthalsoandtheworksthatarethereinshallbeburnedupSeeingthenthatallthesethingsshallbedissolvedwhatmannerofpersonsoughtyetobeinallholyconversationandgodlinessLookingforandhastinguntothecomingofthedayofGodwhereintheheavensbeingonfireshallbedissolvedandtheelementsshallmeltwithferventheatNeverthelessweaccordingtohispromiselookfornewheavensandanewearthwhereindwellethrighteousnessWhereforebelovedseeingthatyelookforsuchthingsbediligentthatyemaybefoundofhiminpeacewithoutspotandblamelessAndaccountthatthelongsufferingofourLordissalvationevenasourbelovedbrotherPaulalsoaccordingtothewisdomgivenuntohimhathwrittenuntoyouAsalsoinallhisepistlesspeakinginthemofthesethingsinwhicharesomethingshardtobeunderstoodwhichtheythatareunlearnedandunstablewrestastheydoalsotheotherscripturesuntotheirowndestructionYethereforebelovedseeingyeknowthesethingsbeforebewarelestyealsobeingledawaywiththeerrorofthewickedfallfromyourownstedfastnessButgrowingraceandintheknowledgeofourLordandSaviourJesusChristTohimbeglorybothnowandforeverAmen
