PaulandSilvanusandTimotheusuntothechurchoftheThessalonianswhichisinGodtheFatherandintheLordJesusChristGracebeuntoyouandpeacefromGodourFatherandtheLordJesusChristWegivethankstoGodalwaysforyouallmakingmentionofyouinourprayersRememberingwithoutceasingyourworkoffaithandlabourofloveandpatienceofhopeinourLordJesusChristinthesightofGodandourFatherKnowingbrethrenbelovedyourelectionofGodForourgospelcamenotuntoyouinwordonlybutalsoinpowerandintheHolyGhostandinmuchassuranceasyeknowwhatmannerofmenwewereamongyouforyoursakeAndyebecamefollowersofusandoftheLordhavingreceivedthewordinmuchafflictionwithjoyoftheHolyGhostSothatyewereensamplestoallthatbelieveinMacedoniaandAchaiaForfromyousoundedoutthewordoftheLordnotonlyinMacedoniaandAchaiabutalsoineveryplaceyourfaithtoGodwardisspreadabroadsothatweneednottospeakanythingFortheythemselvesshewofuswhatmannerofenteringinwehaduntoyouandhowyeturnedtoGodfromidolstoservethelivingandtrueGodAndtowaitforhisSonfromheavenwhomheraisedfromthedeadevenJesuswhichdeliveredusfromthewrathtocomeForyourselvesbrethrenknowourentranceinuntoyouthatitwasnotinvainButevenafterthatwehadsufferedbeforeandwereshamefullyentreatedasyeknowatPhilippiwewereboldinourGodtospeakuntoyouthegospelofGodwithmuchcontentionForourexhortationwasnotofdeceitnorofuncleannessnoringuileButaswewereallowedofGodtobeputintrustwiththegospelevensowespeaknotaspleasingmenbutGodwhichtriethourheartsForneitheratanytimeusedweflatteringwordsasyeknownoraclokeofcovetousnessGodiswitnessNorofmensoughtwegloryneitherofyounoryetofotherswhenwemighthavebeenburdensomeastheapostlesofChristButweweregentleamongyouevenasanursecherishethherchildrenSobeingaffectionatelydesirousofyouwewerewillingtohaveimparteduntoyounotthegospelofGodonlybutalsoourownsoulsbecauseyeweredearuntousForyerememberbrethrenourlabourandtravailforlabouringnightanddaybecausewewouldnotbechargeableuntoanyofyouwepreacheduntoyouthegospelofGodYearewitnessesandGodalsohowholilyandjustlyandunblameablywebehavedourselvesamongyouthatbelieveAsyeknowhowweexhortedandcomfortedandchargedeveryoneofyouasafatherdothhischildrenThatyewouldwalkworthyofGodwhohathcalledyouuntohiskingdomandgloryForthiscausealsothankweGodwithoutceasingbecausewhenyereceivedthewordofGodwhichyeheardofusyereceiveditnotasthewordofmenbutasitisintruththewordofGodwhicheffectuallyworkethalsoinyouthatbelieveForyebrethrenbecamefollowersofthechurchesofGodwhichinJudaeaareinChristJesusforyealsohavesufferedlikethingsofyourowncountrymenevenastheyhaveoftheJewsWhobothkilledtheLordJesusandtheirownprophetsandhavepersecutedusandtheypleasenotGodandarecontrarytoallmenForbiddingustospeaktotheGentilesthattheymightbesavedtofilluptheirsinsalwayforthewrathiscomeuponthemtotheuttermostButwebrethrenbeingtakenfromyouforashorttimeinpresencenotinheartendeavouredthemoreabundantlytoseeyourfacewithgreatdesireWhereforewewouldhavecomeuntoyouevenIPaulonceandagainbutSatanhinderedusForwhatisourhopeorjoyorcrownofrejoicingArenotevenyeinthepresenceofourLordJesusChristathiscomingForyeareourgloryandjoyWhereforewhenwecouldnolongerforbearwethoughtitgoodtobeleftatAthensaloneAndsentTimotheusourbrotherandministerofGodandourfellowlabourerinthegospelofChristtoestablishyouandtocomfortyouconcerningyourfaithThatnomanshouldbemovedbytheseafflictionsforyourselvesknowthatweareappointedthereuntoForverilywhenwewerewithyouwetoldyoubeforethatweshouldsuffertribulationevenasitcametopassandyeknowForthiscausewhenIcouldnolongerforbearIsenttoknowyourfaithlestbysomemeansthetempterhavetemptedyouandourlabourbeinvainButnowwhenTimotheuscamefromyouuntousandbroughtusgoodtidingsofyourfaithandcharityandthatyehavegoodremembranceofusalwaysdesiringgreatlytoseeusaswealsotoseeyouThereforebrethrenwewerecomfortedoveryouinallourafflictionanddistressbyyourfaithFornowweliveifyestandfastintheLordForwhatthankscanwerendertoGodagainforyouforallthejoywherewithwejoyforyoursakesbeforeourGodNightanddayprayingexceedinglythatwemightseeyourfaceandmightperfectthatwhichislackinginyourfaithNowGodhimselfandourFatherandourLordJesusChristdirectourwayuntoyouAndtheLordmakeyoutoincreaseandaboundinloveonetowardanotherandtowardallmenevenaswedotowardyouTotheendhemaystablishyourheartsunblameableinholinessbeforeGodevenourFatheratthecomingofourLordJesusChristwithallhissaintsFurthermorethenwebeseechyoubrethrenandexhortyoubytheLordJesusthatasyehavereceivedofushowyeoughttowalkandtopleaseGodsoyewouldaboundmoreandmoreForyeknowwhatcommandmentswegaveyoubytheLordJesusForthisisthewillofGodevenyoursanctificationthatyeshouldabstainfromfornicationThateveryoneofyoushouldknowhowtopossesshisvesselinsanctificationandhonourNotinthelustofconcupiscenceevenastheGentileswhichknownotGodThatnomangobeyondanddefraudhisbrotherinanymatterbecausethattheLordistheavengerofallsuchaswealsohaveforewarnedyouandtestifiedForGodhathnotcalledusuntouncleannessbutuntoholinessHethereforethatdespisethdespisethnotmanbutGodwhohathalsogivenuntoushisholySpiritButastouchingbrotherlyloveyeneednotthatIwriteuntoyouforyeyourselvesaretaughtofGodtoloveoneanotherAndindeedyedoittowardallthebrethrenwhichareinallMacedoniabutwebeseechyoubrethrenthatyeincreasemoreandmoreAndthatyestudytobequietandtodoyourownbusinessandtoworkwithyourownhandsaswecommandedyouThatyemaywalkhonestlytowardthemthatarewithoutandthatyemayhavelackofnothingButIwouldnothaveyoutobeignorantbrethrenconcerningthemwhichareasleepthatyesorrownotevenasotherswhichhavenohopeForifwebelievethatJesusdiedandroseagainevensothemalsowhichsleepinJesuswillGodbringwithhimForthiswesayuntoyoubythewordoftheLordthatwewhicharealiveandremainuntothecomingoftheLordshallnotpreventthemwhichareasleepFortheLordhimselfshalldescendfromheavenwithashoutwiththevoiceofthearchangelandwiththetrumpofGodandthedeadinChristshallrisefirstThenwewhicharealiveandremainshallbecaughtuptogetherwiththeminthecloudstomeettheLordintheairandsoshallweeverbewiththeLordWhereforecomfortoneanotherwiththesewordsButofthetimesandtheseasonsbrethrenyehavenoneedthatIwriteuntoyouForyourselvesknowperfectlythatthedayoftheLordsocomethasathiefinthenightForwhentheyshallsayPeaceandsafetythensuddendestructioncomethuponthemastravailuponawomanwithchildandtheyshallnotescapeButyebrethrenarenotindarknessthatthatdayshouldovertakeyouasathiefYeareallthechildrenoflightandthechildrenofthedaywearenotofthenightnorofdarknessThereforeletusnotsleepasdoothersbutletuswatchandbesoberFortheythatsleepsleepinthenightandtheythatbedrunkenaredrunkeninthenightButletuswhoareofthedaybesoberputtingonthebreastplateoffaithandloveandforanhelmetthehopeofsalvationForGodhathnotappointedustowrathbuttoobtainsalvationbyourLordJesusChristWhodiedforusthatwhetherwewakeorsleepweshouldlivetogetherwithhimWhereforecomfortyourselvestogetherandedifyoneanotherevenasalsoyedoAndwebeseechyoubrethrentoknowthemwhichlabouramongyouandareoveryouintheLordandadmonishyouAndtoesteemthemveryhighlyinlovefortheirworkssakeAndbeatpeaceamongyourselvesNowweexhortyoubrethrenwarnthemthatareunrulycomfortthefeeblemindedsupporttheweakbepatienttowardallmenSeethatnonerenderevilforeviluntoanymanbuteverfollowthatwhichisgoodbothamongyourselvesandtoallmenRejoiceevermorePraywithoutceasingIneverythinggivethanksforthisisthewillofGodinChristJesusconcerningyouQuenchnottheSpiritDespisenotprophesyingsProveallthingsholdfastthatwhichisgoodAbstainfromallappearanceofevilAndtheveryGodofpeacesanctifyyouwhollyandIprayGodyourwholespiritandsoulandbodybepreservedblamelessuntothecomingofourLordJesusChristFaithfulishethatcallethyouwhoalsowilldoitBrethrenprayforusGreetallthebrethrenwithanholykissIchargeyoubytheLordthatthisepistlebereaduntoalltheholybrethrenThegraceofourLordJesusChristbewithyouAmen
