TheformertreatisehaveImadeOTheophilusofallthatJesusbeganbothtodoandteachUntilthedayinwhichhewastakenupafterthathethroughtheHolyGhosthadgivencommandmentsuntotheapostleswhomhehadchosenTowhomalsoheshewedhimselfaliveafterhispassionbymanyinfallibleproofsbeingseenofthemfortydaysandspeakingofthethingspertainingtothekingdomofGodAndbeingassembledtogetherwiththemcommandedthemthattheyshouldnotdepartfromJerusalembutwaitforthepromiseoftheFatherwhichsaithheyehaveheardofmeForJohntrulybaptizedwithwaterbutyeshallbebaptizedwiththeHolyGhostnotmanydayshenceWhentheythereforewerecometogethertheyaskedofhimsayingLordwiltthouatthistimerestoreagainthekingdomtoIsraelAndhesaiduntothemItisnotforyoutoknowthetimesortheseasonswhichtheFatherhathputinhisownpowerButyeshallreceivepowerafterthattheHolyGhostiscomeuponyouandyeshallbewitnessesuntomebothinJerusalemandinallJudaeaandinSamariaanduntotheuttermostpartoftheearthAndwhenhehadspokenthesethingswhiletheybeheldhewastakenupandacloudreceivedhimoutoftheirsightAndwhiletheylookedstedfastlytowardheavenashewentupbeholdtwomenstoodbytheminwhiteapparelWhichalsosaidYemenofGalileewhystandyegazingupintoheaventhissameJesuswhichistakenupfromyouintoheavenshallsocomeinlikemannerasyehaveseenhimgointoheavenThenreturnedtheyuntoJerusalemfromthemountcalledOlivetwhichisfromJerusalemasabbathdaysjourneyAndwhentheywerecomeintheywentupintoanupperroomwhereabodebothPeterandJamesandJohnandAndrewPhilipandThomasBartholomewandMatthewJamesthesonofAlphaeusandSimonZelotesandJudasthebrotherofJamesTheseallcontinuedwithoneaccordinprayerandsupplicationwiththewomenandMarythemotherofJesusandwithhisbrethrenAndinthosedaysPeterstoodupinthemidstofthedisciplesandsaidthenumberofnamestogetherwereaboutanhundredandtwentyMenandbrethrenthisscripturemustneedshavebeenfulfilledwhichtheHolyGhostbythemouthofDavidspakebeforeconcerningJudaswhichwasguidetothemthattookJesusForhewasnumberedwithusandhadobtainedpartofthisministryNowthismanpurchasedafieldwiththerewardofiniquityandfallingheadlongheburstasunderinthemidstandallhisbowelsgushedoutAnditwasknownuntoallthedwellersatJerusaleminsomuchasthatfieldiscalledintheirpropertongueAceldamathatistosayThefieldofbloodForitiswritteninthebookofPsalmsLethishabitationbedesolateandletnomandwellthereinandhisbishoprickletanothertakeWhereforeofthesemenwhichhavecompaniedwithusallthetimethattheLordJesuswentinandoutamongusBeginningfromthebaptismofJohnuntothatsamedaythathewastakenupfromusmustonebeordainedtobeawitnesswithusofhisresurrectionAndtheyappointedtwoJosephcalledBarsabaswhowassurnamedJustusandMatthiasAndtheyprayedandsaidThouLordwhichknowesttheheartsofallmenshewwhetherofthesetwothouhastchosenThathemaytakepartofthisministryandapostleshipfromwhichJudasbytransgressionfellthathemightgotohisownplaceAndtheygaveforththeirlotsandthelotfelluponMatthiasandhewasnumberedwiththeelevenapostlesAndwhenthedayofPentecostwasfullycometheywereallwithoneaccordinoneplaceAndsuddenlytherecameasoundfromheavenasofarushingmightywindanditfilledallthehousewheretheyweresittingAndthereappeareduntothemcloventongueslikeasoffireanditsatuponeachofthemAndtheywereallfilledwiththeHolyGhostandbegantospeakwithothertonguesastheSpiritgavethemutteranceAndthereweredwellingatJerusalemJewsdevoutmenoutofeverynationunderheavenNowwhenthiswasnoisedabroadthemultitudecametogetherandwereconfoundedbecausethateverymanheardthemspeakinhisownlanguageAndtheywereallamazedandmarvelledsayingonetoanotherBeholdarenotallthesewhichspeakGalilaeansAndhowhearweeverymaninourowntonguewhereinwewerebornParthiansandMedesandElamitesandthedwellersinMesopotamiaandinJudaeaandCappadociainPontusandAsiaPhrygiaandPamphyliainEgyptandinthepartsofLibyaaboutCyreneandstrangersofRomeJewsandproselytesCretesandArabianswedohearthemspeakinourtonguesthewonderfulworksofGodAndtheywereallamazedandwereindoubtsayingonetoanotherWhatmeaneththisOthersmockingsaidThesemenarefullofnewwineButPeterstandingupwiththeelevenlifteduphisvoiceandsaiduntothemYemenofJudaeaandallyethatdwellatJerusalembethisknownuntoyouandhearkentomywordsForthesearenotdrunkenasyesupposeseeingitisbutthethirdhourofthedayButthisisthatwhichwasspokenbytheprophetJoelAnditshallcometopassinthelastdayssaithGodIwillpouroutofmySpirituponallfleshandyoursonsandyourdaughtersshallprophesyandyouryoungmenshallseevisionsandyouroldmenshalldreamdreamsAndonmyservantsandonmyhandmaidensIwillpouroutinthosedaysofmySpiritandtheyshallprophesyAndIwillshewwondersinheavenaboveandsignsintheearthbeneathbloodandfireandvapourofsmokeThesunshallbeturnedintodarknessandthemoonintobloodbeforethatgreatandnotabledayoftheLordcomeAnditshallcometopassthatwhosoevershallcallonthenameoftheLordshallbesavedYemenofIsraelhearthesewordsJesusofNazarethamanapprovedofGodamongyoubymiraclesandwondersandsignswhichGoddidbyhiminthemidstofyouasyeyourselvesalsoknowHimbeingdeliveredbythedeterminatecounselandforeknowledgeofGodyehavetakenandbywickedhandshavecrucifiedandslainWhomGodhathraiseduphavingloosedthepainsofdeathbecauseitwasnotpossiblethatheshouldbeholdenofitForDavidspeakethconcerninghimIforesawtheLordalwaysbeforemyfaceforheisonmyrighthandthatIshouldnotbemovedThereforedidmyheartrejoiceandmytonguewasgladmoreoveralsomyfleshshallrestinhopeBecausethouwiltnotleavemysoulinhellneitherwiltthousufferthineHolyOnetoseecorruptionThouhastmadeknowntomethewaysoflifethoushaltmakemefullofjoywiththycountenanceMenandbrethrenletmefreelyspeakuntoyouofthepatriarchDavidthatheisbothdeadandburiedandhissepulchreiswithusuntothisdayThereforebeingaprophetandknowingthatGodhadswornwithanoathtohimthatofthefruitofhisloinsaccordingtothefleshhewouldraiseupChristtositonhisthroneHeseeingthisbeforespakeoftheresurrectionofChristthathissoulwasnotleftinhellneitherhisfleshdidseecorruptionThisJesushathGodraisedupwhereofweallarewitnessesThereforebeingbytherighthandofGodexaltedandhavingreceivedoftheFatherthepromiseoftheHolyGhosthehathshedforththiswhichyenowseeandhearForDavidisnotascendedintotheheavensbuthesaithhimselfTheLORDsaiduntomyLordSitthouonmyrighthandUntilImakethyfoesthyfootstoolThereforeletallthehouseofIsraelknowassuredlythatGodhathmadethatsameJesuswhomyehavecrucifiedbothLordandChristNowwhentheyheardthistheywereprickedintheirheartandsaiduntoPeterandtotherestoftheapostlesMenandbrethrenwhatshallwedoThenPetersaiduntothemRepentandbebaptizedeveryoneofyouinthenameofJesusChristfortheremissionofsinsandyeshallreceivethegiftoftheHolyGhostForthepromiseisuntoyouandtoyourchildrenandtoallthatareafaroffevenasmanyastheLordourGodshallcallAndwithmanyotherwordsdidhetestifyandexhortsayingSaveyourselvesfromthisuntowardgenerationThentheythatgladlyreceivedhiswordwerebaptizedandthesamedaytherewereaddeduntothemaboutthreethousandsoulsAndtheycontinuedstedfastlyintheapostlesdoctrineandfellowshipandinbreakingofbreadandinprayersAndfearcameuponeverysoulandmanywondersandsignsweredonebytheapostlesAndallthatbelievedweretogetherandhadallthingscommonAndsoldtheirpossessionsandgoodsandpartedthemtoallmenaseverymanhadneedAndtheycontinuingdailywithoneaccordinthetempleandbreakingbreadfromhousetohousedideattheirmeatwithgladnessandsinglenessofheartPraisingGodandhavingfavourwithallthepeopleAndtheLordaddedtothechurchdailysuchasshouldbesavedNowPeterandJohnwentuptogetherintothetempleatthehourofprayerbeingtheninthhourAndacertainmanlamefromhismotherswombwascarriedwhomtheylaiddailyatthegateofthetemplewhichiscalledBeautifultoaskalmsofthemthatenteredintothetempleWhoseeingPeterandJohnabouttogointothetempleaskedanalmsAndPeterfasteninghiseyesuponhimwithJohnsaidLookonusAndhegaveheeduntothemexpectingtoreceivesomethingofthemThenPetersaidSilverandgoldhaveInonebutsuchasIhavegiveItheeInthenameofJesusChristofNazarethriseupandwalkAndhetookhimbytherighthandandliftedhimupandimmediatelyhisfeetandanclebonesreceivedstrengthAndheleapingupstoodandwalkedandenteredwiththemintothetemplewalkingandleapingandpraisingGodAndallthepeoplesawhimwalkingandpraisingGodAndtheyknewthatitwashewhichsatforalmsattheBeautifulgateofthetempleandtheywerefilledwithwonderandamazementatthatwhichhadhappeneduntohimAndasthelamemanwhichwashealedheldPeterandJohnallthepeoplerantogetheruntothemintheporchthatiscalledSolomonsgreatlywonderingAndwhenPetersawitheanswereduntothepeopleYemenofIsraelwhymarvelyeatthisorwhylookyesoearnestlyonusasthoughbyourownpowerorholinesswehadmadethismantowalkTheGodofAbrahamandofIsaacandofJacobtheGodofourfathershathglorifiedhisSonJesuswhomyedeliveredupanddeniedhiminthepresenceofPilatewhenhewasdeterminedtolethimgoButyedeniedtheHolyOneandtheJustanddesiredamurderertobegranteduntoyouAndkilledthePrinceoflifewhomGodhathraisedfromthedeadwhereofwearewitnessesAndhisnamethroughfaithinhisnamehathmadethismanstrongwhomyeseeandknowyeathefaithwhichisbyhimhathgivenhimthisperfectsoundnessinthepresenceofyouallAndnowbrethrenIwotthatthroughignoranceyediditasdidalsoyourrulersButthosethingswhichGodbeforehadshewedbythemouthofallhisprophetsthatChristshouldsufferhehathsofulfilledRepentyethereforeandbeconvertedthatyoursinsmaybeblottedoutwhenthetimesofrefreshingshallcomefromthepresenceoftheLordAndheshallsendJesusChristwhichbeforewaspreacheduntoyouWhomtheheavenmustreceiveuntilthetimesofrestitutionofallthingswhichGodhathspokenbythemouthofallhisholyprophetssincetheworldbeganForMosestrulysaiduntothefathersAprophetshalltheLordyourGodraiseupuntoyouofyourbrethrenlikeuntomehimshallyehearinallthingswhatsoeverheshallsayuntoyouAnditshallcometopassthateverysoulwhichwillnothearthatprophetshallbedestroyedfromamongthepeopleYeaandalltheprophetsfromSamuelandthosethatfollowafterasmanyashavespokenhavelikewiseforetoldofthesedaysYearethechildrenoftheprophetsandofthecovenantwhichGodmadewithourfatherssayinguntoAbrahamAndinthyseedshallallthekindredsoftheearthbeblessedUntoyoufirstGodhavingraiseduphisSonJesussenthimtoblessyouinturningawayeveryoneofyoufromhisiniquitiesAndastheyspakeuntothepeoplethepriestsandthecaptainofthetempleandtheSadduceescameuponthemBeinggrievedthattheytaughtthepeopleandpreachedthroughJesustheresurrectionfromthedeadAndtheylaidhandsonthemandputtheminholduntothenextdayforitwasnoweventideHowbeitmanyofthemwhichheardthewordbelievedandthenumberofthemenwasaboutfivethousandAnditcametopassonthemorrowthattheirrulersandeldersandscribesAndAnnasthehighpriestandCaiaphasandJohnandAlexanderandasmanyaswereofthekindredofthehighpriestweregatheredtogetheratJerusalemAndwhentheyhadsettheminthemidsttheyaskedBywhatpowerorbywhatnamehaveyedonethisThenPeterfilledwiththeHolyGhostsaiduntothemYerulersofthepeopleandeldersofIsraelIfwethisdaybeexaminedofthegooddeeddonetotheimpotentmanbywhatmeansheismadewholeBeitknownuntoyouallandtoallthepeopleofIsraelthatbythenameofJesusChristofNazarethwhomyecrucifiedwhomGodraisedfromthedeadevenbyhimdoththismanstandherebeforeyouwholeThisisthestonewhichwassetatnoughtofyoubuilderswhichisbecometheheadofthecornerNeitheristheresalvationinanyotherforthereisnoneothernameunderheavengivenamongmenwherebywemustbesavedNowwhentheysawtheboldnessofPeterandJohnandperceivedthattheywereunlearnedandignorantmentheymarvelledandtheytookknowledgeofthemthattheyhadbeenwithJesusAndbeholdingthemanwhichwashealedstandingwiththemtheycouldsaynothingagainstitButwhentheyhadcommandedthemtogoasideoutofthecounciltheyconferredamongthemselvesSayingWhatshallwedotothesemenforthatindeedanotablemiraclehathbeendonebythemismanifesttoallthemthatdwellinJerusalemandwecannotdenyitButthatitspreadnofurtheramongthepeopleletusstraitlythreatenthemthattheyspeakhenceforthtonomaninthisnameAndtheycalledthemandcommandedthemnottospeakatallnorteachinthenameofJesusButPeterandJohnansweredandsaiduntothemWhetheritberightinthesightofGodtohearkenuntoyoumorethanuntoGodjudgeyeForwecannotbutspeakthethingswhichwehaveseenandheardSowhentheyhadfurtherthreatenedthemtheyletthemgofindingnothinghowtheymightpunishthembecauseofthepeopleforallmenglorifiedGodforthatwhichwasdoneForthemanwasabovefortyyearsoldonwhomthismiracleofhealingwasshewedAndbeingletgotheywenttotheirowncompanyandreportedallthatthechiefpriestsandeldershadsaiduntothemAndwhentheyheardthattheylifteduptheirvoicetoGodwithoneaccordandsaidLordthouartGodwhichhastmadeheavenandearthandtheseaandallthatinthemisWhobythemouthofthyservantDavidhastsaidWhydidtheheathenrageandthepeopleimaginevainthingsThekingsoftheearthstoodupandtherulersweregatheredtogetheragainsttheLordandagainsthisChristForofatruthagainstthyholychildJesuswhomthouhastanointedbothHerodandPontiusPilatewiththeGentilesandthepeopleofIsraelweregatheredtogetherFortodowhatsoeverthyhandandthycounseldeterminedbeforetobedoneAndnowLordbeholdtheirthreateningsandgrantuntothyservantsthatwithallboldnesstheymayspeakthywordBystretchingforththinehandtohealandthatsignsandwondersmaybedonebythenameofthyholychildJesusAndwhentheyhadprayedtheplacewasshakenwheretheywereassembledtogetherandtheywereallfilledwiththeHolyGhostandtheyspakethewordofGodwithboldnessAndthemultitudeofthemthatbelievedwereofoneheartandofonesoulneithersaidanyofthemthatoughtofthethingswhichhepossessedwashisownbuttheyhadallthingscommonAndwithgreatpowergavetheapostleswitnessoftheresurrectionoftheLordJesusandgreatgracewasuponthemallNeitherwasthereanyamongthemthatlackedforasmanyaswerepossessorsoflandsorhousessoldthemandbroughtthepricesofthethingsthatweresoldAndlaidthemdownattheapostlesfeetanddistributionwasmadeuntoeverymanaccordingashehadneedAndJoseswhobytheapostleswassurnamedBarnabaswhichisbeinginterpretedThesonofconsolationaLeviteandofthecountryofCyprusHavinglandsolditandbroughtthemoneyandlaiditattheapostlesfeetButacertainmannamedAnaniaswithSapphirahiswifesoldapossessionAndkeptbackpartofthepricehiswifealsobeingprivytoitandbroughtacertainpartandlaiditattheapostlesfeetButPetersaidAnaniaswhyhathSatanfilledthinehearttolietotheHolyGhostandtokeepbackpartofthepriceofthelandWhilesitremainedwasitnotthineownandafteritwassoldwasitnotinthineownpowerwhyhastthouconceivedthisthinginthineheartthouhastnotlieduntomenbutuntoGodAndAnaniashearingthesewordsfelldownandgaveuptheghostandgreatfearcameonallthemthatheardthesethingsAndtheyoungmenarosewoundhimupandcarriedhimoutandburiedhimAnditwasaboutthespaceofthreehoursafterwhenhiswifenotknowingwhatwasdonecameinAndPeteranswereduntoherTellmewhetheryesoldthelandforsomuchAndshesaidYeaforsomuchThenPetersaiduntoherHowisitthatyehaveagreedtogethertotempttheSpiritoftheLordbeholdthefeetofthemwhichhaveburiedthyhusbandareatthedoorandshallcarrytheeoutThenfellshedownstraightwayathisfeetandyieldeduptheghostandtheyoungmencameinandfoundherdeadandcarryingherforthburiedherbyherhusbandAndgreatfearcameuponallthechurchanduponasmanyasheardthesethingsAndbythehandsoftheapostlesweremanysignsandwonderswroughtamongthepeopleandtheywereallwithoneaccordinSolomonsporchAndoftherestdurstnomanjoinhimselftothembutthepeoplemagnifiedthemAndbelieverswerethemoreaddedtotheLordmultitudesbothofmenandwomenInsomuchthattheybroughtforththesickintothestreetsandlaidthemonbedsandcouchesthatattheleasttheshadowofPeterpassingbymightovershadowsomeofthemTherecamealsoamultitudeoutofthecitiesroundaboutuntoJerusalembringingsickfolksandthemwhichwerevexedwithuncleanspiritsandtheywerehealedeveryoneThenthehighpriestroseupandalltheythatwerewithhimwhichisthesectoftheSadduceesandwerefilledwithindignationAndlaidtheir
